Cornelius Named Model Title I School
Cornelius Elementary has been designated as a “model school” by the Oregon Department of Education based on the academic growth of students. This honor was given to only 27 of the 600 Oregon Title I schools. These schools will serve as models and mentors to other schools around the state.School Safety

The school administration has reviewed all existing school safety procedures for Cornelius Elementary and the district will continue to work with local law enforcement officials on reviewing and updating proper safety procedures as necessary.
Some of the safety measures in place include the following:
· All visitors must enter through the main office entry way.
· All other exterior doors are locked during the school day.
· All visitors must check in and sign in at the main office.
· All visitors must wear a visible visitor badge when on site.
· All staff are directed to report any individual on campus without a visitor badge to the main office immediately.
The Forest Grove School District takes school safety very seriously as it is our top priority in meeting the needs of all students and staff.
